EDGE was launched by John Sonsalla and Jesse Barba as a way to include young, talented advocacy and industry professionals in the recruitment and protection of younger Democratic leaders in Congress. The two cast a wide net to attract young professionals under 35 years old, who are leaders in their fields and who are passionate about electoral politics.
EDGE members work primarily in government relations, advocacy, and communications, representing a variety of public and private corporations, trade associations, and non-profit organizations across a range of policy matters. Collectively, EDGE members have participated in local, state, and national elections – deploying across the country to bolster campaign recruitment and turn out efforts.
Through strategic visioning, partnerships and recruitment, EDGE members aim to build the power and influence of Millennials in the halls of Congress. Our focus areas include jobs and wages, economic mobility and financial empowerment, and energy and the environment.
